History

The Year is 1327 DR, deep inside the Starspire Mountains, the last clan of Sondarr, Clan Ghlamrin, continues to exist and rule under the mountain, living in a small settlement called Morndivver. The town is ruled by Arduke Obar Ghalmrin, with his daughter Kiira Ghalmrin following close. To secure goods to survive the Underdark, the Arduke Obar allows the trade of dwarven specials, such as the famous dwarven axes, by trading with Zazesspur, Darromar and Murram. The town of Morndivver itself is a small settlement, by dwarven standards, with no more than 1000 citizens. [1]

The clergy of Morndivver acts authoritatively in the city, providing protection and spiritual comfort to the inhabitants, who in turn played their part in the development of the city. Joyful events, such as the birth of a new child, were always celebrated by priests and close families. However, catastrophic events were also watched with great attention and almost always demanded a drastic response from the spiritual leaders.

On a cold winter morning, at the Rockfist's residence, the old clan of miners anxiously awaited the birth of the newest member of the family, inside the great hall of the house. A great feast was planned to take place, accompanied by music, beer, and meat. The Hall was simple but majestic. Above the main fireplace was the family's great jewel, a massive diamond hanging from the main wall of the house, alongside paintings of the clan's most famous miners.

The typical cry of a newborn echoed through the caves of the house. However, that was not the only sound heard by the clan. The roar of a great monstrosity also reverberated through the rocks, putting the dwarves into a state of battle. Alas, the battle never came, as no beasts were found. Moments later, the large diamond in the main hall cracked, breaking into several pieces.

The newborn's body also bore a mark on its chest: a scar that resembled the shape of a claw. To the high priest of Morndivver, the signs were clear. Thard Harr manifested his will and that baby, named Bauss, was destined to live according to the dogmas and rites of the Vuddors, following the great Disentangler.

To raise a Vuddor (a dwarvish word loosely translated as "those of the jungle"), the family chose to abandon their duties in the mines to carry on the activities of trade between the allied cities, creating a small settlement in the forests near Mosstone. This way, Bauss would have the necessary contact with the forest to instigate his wild side, while also obtaining the support and wisdom of his family.

For 20 years, the family was successful in commercial activities. However, in 1347 DR, terror came to the Mosstone and the entire region when a green dragon emerged from the deepest eastern parts of the Forest of Tethir. The creature plagued the Trade Way, devouring caravans that traveled along the route, also destroying a small village north of Mosstone. The entire family, with exception of Bauss, was killed on the attack. [2]

The next 22 years were difficult but necessary. In the woods of Tethir, Bauss could count on the druidic circle, assisting on the protection of the forests and developing his wild side. At Mosstone, Bauss had help from the barbarian Ardogh Stonegrip [3], who almost always invited the young dwarf to help with the caravan escorts, while sharing his savage combat techniques.
