Aisling hails from the village of Ashglen, a small settlement in a wooded region a few days travel from Caer Corwell. She was born to a Ffolk mother and a Northlander father who had distanced himself from the ways commonly held by his people. While she was no stranger to the agricultural work that absorbed most families and their children, Aisling experienced much more isolation than her peers as she bore the Northlander features of her father. This isolation afforded her more opportunities in letters, and growing up in a bilingual household fed her ability for languages.

In her teens, Aisling took to martial pursuits as Northlander raiders unsettled by the end of the Darkwalker war continued to plague the people she was raised among. During this time she served as a scout, fought in a number of skirmishes between Ffolk and Northlanders, and applied her linguistic capabilities and literacy to great effect in reporting on raider movements. Though her talents were useful in the employ of her people, her features still kept under scrutiny and downright suspicion and her mastery of the Northlander tongue ensured she was frequently suspected of spying for the raiders. Misfortune eventually stuck and an intelligence gathering mission at a temporary Northlander encampment and this suspicion became truth in the eyes of most of Aisling's comrades.

To preserve her life, she fled the Moonshaes for the southern Sword Coast where she spent a number of years scraping out a living as a caravan guard, guide, and sell sword. As she spent more time in Amn's lands, she added Chondathan to her repertoire.

Work has now taken her to Murann, where she currently scrapes out a living as an outsider far away from the home that first introduced her to the concept.
