Brother Justin hails from the Sword Coast and spent much of his younger life in local militia service, escorting caravans, guarding roads, and seeing firsthand how quickly fear, violence, and hardship could ruin ordinary people. Though capable in a fight and no stranger to conflict, those years gradually pushed him toward the teachings of Ilmater. He came to believe there was greater strength in helping people endure suffering than in simply inflicting more of it. Still, Justin is no pacifist. He believes mercy has limits, and that some evils must be confronted directly before they spread their misery further.

After leaving militia service behind, Justin spent several years working and volunteering among roadside shrines and refugee hostels maintained by the followers of Ilmater. What began as simple labor gradually became devotion, and he eventually entered the priesthood as a late novice, where his training focused less on theology and ceremony and more on endurance, discipline, tending the suffering, and learning how to remain steady in the presence of pain and despair without being consumed by either.

Now in his early forties, Justin is a retains much of the rigorous physical regimen of his youth with a shaved head, one handsome but aging features, and calm gray-blue eyes. His manner is steady and restrained, preferring thoughtful conversation and quiet contemplation over loud preaching or displays of zeal. He spends much of his time among Murann’s refugees, laborers, and poorer districts, offering practical aid, healing, and guidance to those struggling beneath hard circumstances. While compassionate, Justin is not overly soft in his approach; he believes hardship can either break a person or strengthen them, and often speaks with the calm firmness of a seasoned coach rather than a comforting healer.
