Born in a small village between Murann and Tradesmeet Laharic was raised by his parents, mother Lynna a herbalist, and father Rodric a farmer. His childhood years are of no particular note, he spent most of his time as a youth with his mother helping her in her herb garden and making tinctures to break common fevers and the like.

It wasnt until his tenth year that he found himself lost in the nearby mountains foraging for new herbs to bring home and he wondered too close to old burial grounds. In that moment when he stepped foot onto forgotten resting places the spirits of the dead came forth to bring him into their icy clutches.

Luck was with him that day though for a cleric devouted to Helm heard the commotion and came. The man dove into the spirits with no hesitation, presenting his symbol and casting the wraiths back into their rest. The man called himself Hersten and escorted Laharic back home but along the way all Laharic could think of was how he wished to help people like this man did for him.

Once home he begged his parents to allow him to go with the cleric to begin an apprenticeship as a holy warrior for Helm. Reasonably they said no and Herstan left their farm in peace, bringing their only son home.

Laharic wouldn't hear it though and a fortnight later he ran away from home, leaving a hastily scribbled note. Now he did not know where to go so he wondered aimlessly until he heard a scream in the forest. With nothing but a branch he broke as a walking stick he ran to help, finding a woman beset upon by a goblin, the youth yelled for Helm to guide his arm and ran in, swinging his stick like an idiot at the goblin.

He awoke next in a small clearing with the woman putting a wet cloth on a bloodied wound in his head, she explained to him that as soon as he broke through the trees his yelling scared the goblin away but he tripped over a root and knocked himself out.

Ashamed he told her his story of wanting to be a holy warrior to Helm and she smiled, for she was a grounds keeper at a near by temple for the god and they had a small abbey where young boys and girls like him trained. He took this as a sign that Helm heard him and he went with her to begin his training.

Not a month into his training his parents arrived in a fury having heard he was alive and tore into him for running away from home but they soon realized their son was growing here, the young impressionable farm boy was committed to his training though it had just begun and after a few rounds of berating him for his foolishness they relented and gave their blessing for him to stay and train.

And so it was that the farm boy would become a Paladin to Helm, now grown and newly freed from his apprenticeship at the abbey he steps forward into Murann to help, finding fast friends with his fellow Firedrakes and often sending letters home to his parents so they don't worry.
