Yander Redshield - The Long Game
Yander Redshield.png
Age: In his 20s (true age unknown)
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Race: Half-Elf (Moon)
Appearance: Yander has extremely fair skin, with the tips of his pointed ears having a faint bluish tinge, as well as along his chin. His eyes are gray-blue in tone, with characteristic silver flecks. His hair is straight and black, kept short. Naturally handsome (some would say beautiful), he attempts to present a stoic bearing to the casual viewer - but he is frequently unable to resist a bright smile, nor does he make any attempt to hide the gentle kindness in his voice.
Occupation: Paladin of the Red Knight; Knight-Errant of the Order of the Red Falcon
Personality: Friendly, respectful, affable - with hidden depths and motives that can be hard to assess.

Yander knows little of his origin and history, his earliest memories all being of the streets of Baldur's Gate. It isn't unusual to find urchins and orphans aplenty along the Gate's gray, misty streets - but Yander stood out by making his living as a young courier, noted in the communities he worked for his honesty and commitment to getting jobs done. Yander's life changed when this reputation brought him to the notice of a red-clad knight, who tasked the young urchin with delivering an important message to a noble in the Gate's Upper City within a very narrow timeframe. Yander managed the feat - impressing the knight with his quick thinking, ability to use his environment to his advantage, and his honesty and respectful demeanor. The Knight made Yander his Squire, granting the urchin his surname and taking him to the Citadel of Strategic Militancy, then only recently rebuilt and having been dedicated to the Red Lady.

His time at the Citadel was not idyllic. Though he had a natural talent for strategy and a willingness to learn, his ascent to the status of paladin was marred with trauma - the exact details of which he keeps close to his chest, and his Order doesn't speak freely of. No one was surprised when he asked for leave to go on Pilgrimage to Tethyr, to walk in the footsteps of Lady Kaitlyn Bloodhawk in her own crusades in the then-troubled nation. He accepted transfer to the Chapter of the Nine Peers, and has spent five years walking her path, aiding the peoples of Tethyr. Tales of a lonely, helpful knight in red seeking something clearly lost to him, have littered his path throughout the Lands of Intrigue.
